Eleanor Percy was born in 1979 in Worcestershire. She recently graduated with a first class honours degree from Trinity College of Music, London where she studied as a violin scholar with Nona Liddell MBE. Previously she studied with Angela Richey and Roger Coull.
At the age of 17, she won the English Speaking Union's prestigious Pushman Award. Since then, she has won numerous competitions such as; the Langdon Prize for Classical Concerto and the John Barbirolli Prize for String Quartet. In 2000, Eleanor won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the Zumaia International Festival of Music in Spain with her Piano Trio.
In her duo, with pianist Irina Lyakhovskaya, Eleanor has given recitals at major venues including; The Royal Opera House Covent Garden and St. Martin in the Fields. The duo has recently recorded their debut CD of Mozart, Brahms and Prokofiev for the Russian ImLab label. Next year they will begin recording the complete Mozart sonatas for the same company.
Eleanor has worked with many orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra. She also works as a soloist, performing Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chausson, Bruch, Saint-Saens, Glazunov and Brahms concerti with orchestras in and around London.
